Odoo UI Design Kit User Manual

AI Chat Modification Features

Odoo UI Design Kit allows users to modify form layouts and table components through natural-language instructions. Enter a request in the chat panel, review the generated change, and decide whether to accept it or refine the requirement.

1. Add a Numeric Field

Tips for Writing Effective Prompts

For more accurate modifications, include the following information in your prompt:

  1. Target component
Specify the field, button, table, column, tab, or panel you want to modify.

  2. Requested action
Clearly state whether you want to add, remove, move, resize, recolor, or reorder the component.

  3. Target position
Use clear descriptions such as “after the Role field,” “at the top of the page,” or “in the bottom-right corner.”

  4. Display properties
When changing the appearance, specify the desired color, font size, label, width, or alignment.

  5. Expected behavior
For buttons, counters, and status bars, describe what information they should display or what action they should trigger.

[Action] + [Target component] + [Position or style] + [Expected behavior]

Example

Add a button named Approve after the Status field and use it to trigger the approval workflow.

Writing Style Recommendations

For consistency throughout the manual:

  • Use Example Prompt instead of mixing “Example Question” and “Example Query.”
  • Use text color rather than “font color” when referring specifically to color.
  • Use consistent capitalization for field names, button names, table names, and tabs.
  • Use numbered sections so users can quickly locate a function.
  • Place each screenshot immediately after its related example prompt.
